UDG
Úplně skvělá skupina, která to umí naživo parádně rozjet! Jsou to úžasní kluci, děsně je žeru ;o)
Pop-rocková skupina UDG vznikla v roce 1998 v Ústí nad Labem. Název je zkratkou původního jména Useless Demi-Gods, v překladu Nepotřební polobozi, jehož inspirací se staly texty velšských kytarových idolů Manic Street Preachers.
Během prvních pěti let existence kapela natočila dva demosnímky (Štěkat do boudy – 2001, Obsazeno místenkou – 2003), zrealizovala videoklip ke skladbě Zpěvy deště a koncertovala ve Francii.
V květnu 2004 se skupina stala z rozhodnutí odborné poroty vítězem druhého ročníku soutěže Coca - Cola Pop Star a podepsala smlouvu na vydání alba s hudebním vydavatelstvím SONY BMG. Debutové album s názvem Ztraceni v inspiracích vyšlo v říjnu 2004, obsahuje 13 skladeb a jako host si na něm zazpíval například Matěj Homola ze skupiny Wohnout nebo frontman kapely Kryštof Richard Krajčo. K singlům Motýl, Hvězdář a Piloti byly natočeny videoklipy, jež se objevily v televizních hitparádách. Od ledna 2006 má skupina UDG nového kytaristu, Francouze Guillauma Kondrackiho.
Za poslední dva roky skupina několikrát objela Českou republiku, ať už jako předkapela českých či slovenských skupin Kryštof, Divokej Bill, Horkýže Slíže nebo Wohnout, či na samostatných turné. Skupina patří díky své energické show k vyhledávaným festivalovým atrakcím.
Ve své muzice UDG mísí ostré kytarové rify, se silnými popovými melodiemi, ale pozorný posluchač tu najde i prvky ska či hiphopu. Velký důraz kapela klade na poetické texty plné slovních hříček, v nichž si každý může nacházet svůj vlastní smysl.
19. března 2007 vydávají UDG další album s názvem Buď a nebe. Natáčelo se v průběhu ledna a února ve studiu Sono a producentem se stal opět osvědčený Milan Cimfe, který se v minulosti producentsky podílel například na albech skupin Lucie, Kabát, Divokej Bill či zpěváka Petra Bendeho a zpěvačky Gáby al Dháby.
Prvním singlem je skladba Předměstí. „Písnička Předměstí vznikla jen asi za tři hodiny a paradoxně by to mohl být největší hit alba,“ řekl zpěvák Petr Vrzák. Neméně výrazným songem je titulní Buď a nebe, který s kapelou nazpívala současná přítelkyně baskytaristy Pavla Vrzáka Iva Frühlingová, či píseň Kurtizána. Ve skladbě Cowboy hip hop si zazpívali hned dva další hosté – Honza Homola ze spřátelených Wohnoutů a zástupce české taneční scény, MC NuC ze skupiny Skyline. Riskovat se muzikanti nebáli ve skladbě Chimér a Kiss, jejímž hlavním motivem je kvílivé kytarové sólo a druhá sloka je nazpívána pozpátku.
Hotov už je také videoklip k singlu Předměstí, jehož režie se tentokrát ujali francouzští přátelé skupiny v čele s profesorem pražské AVU Christofem Slussareffem, kteří své zkušenosti ze studia designu a nových technologií zúročili i na bookletu k desce. „Jsem rád, že na image, která bude provázet kapelu s vydáním nové desky, pracují umělci z Francie, protože mohou přinést jiný pohled na věc, něco, co tu ještě není,“ řekl zpěvák a saxofonista Adam Kupera. Autorem promo fotografií je uznávaný módní fotograf Lukáš Vrtílek.
Na březen a duben 2007 má kapela naplánovány koncerty po celé České republice, včetně slavnostního křtu alba 24. dubna v pražském Paláci Akropolis, kde nebudou chybět všichni hosté alba Iva Frühlingová, Honza Homola a MC NuC ze Skyline a jako předskokan se představí nadějná kapela Imodium. Své místo má kapela jisté na většině letních hudebních festivalů, k nimž letos přibyla i putovní open-air akce České hrady.cz, kde se představí společně s Anetou Langerovou, kapelami Divokej Bill, Kryštof, Wohnout, Gaia Mesiah, Vypsaná fiXa a dalšími interprety.
Kapela vybočuje z poměrů českého showbyznysu nadstandardně kamarádským postojem ke svým fanouškům. “Všichni se diví tomu, že bereme lidi na podium, do šatny, někdy je i rozvážíme domů po koncertě, ale nás to tak baví, fanoušek je pro nás na prvním místě,“ S novou deskou UDG přináší svým fanouškům i ojedinělý projekt nazvaný FUN klub. Každý, kdo si koupí originální nové CD skupiny UDG, se může díky kartičce se speciálním kódem do nového FUN klubu zaregistrovat, a dostávat tak od kapely volné vstupy na vybrané koncerty, tajné fotky, videa, nevydané skladby a další kuriozity na mail. Hlavním smyslem jsou ale výjezdy fanoušků a členů kapely na společné akce na chatách, chalupách či pod stanem. „V jedné knížce nazývali Sex Pistols své fanoušky rodinou. To mě oslovilo a přivedlo na nápad založit něco jako UDG rodinu. Mám z toho radost, bude to zábava. Doufám, že budeme početná rodina,“ dodává k FUN klubu jeho duchovní otec Jugi.
